Responsibilities & Tasks
- Assist in the preparation of financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.
- Support the finance team in the monthly closure of accounts and preparation of financial statements.
- Participate in the processing of financial transactions and maintenance of the general ledger.
- Aid in the reconciliation of bank statements and financial discrepancies.
- Enhance business processes and systems for improved efficiency.
- Maintain professional interaction with clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate on administrative tasks, showcasing teamwork and communication skills
Apprenticeship Programme & Training
- Full day-to-day training will be provided by the employer.
- This apprenticeship qualification is called Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant.
- If you do not have grades A-C/9-4 in GCSE maths and English, you will be required to complete Level 1 Functional Skills maths and English.
- The learning will be delivered by dedicated, industry-specialist tutors via remote or face-to-face sessions. The only exception are AAT exams – these may need to take place at a local examination centre.
- These session take place once per month, for roughly 2 hours, at a time convenient for both you and the employer.
- You will also complete a Vendor or Professional Qualification alongside the apprenticeship, which is chosen by the employer to be most relevant to the job role. This will either be the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, the ACCA Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting (Level 2), the IAB Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping or the ICB Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping.
- You can expect to be eligible for Accounting & Finance posts, or for a higher-level apprenticeship upon completing this apprenticeship.
