We are looking for an aspiring Apprentice School Finance Assistant to join a growing team and to support all finance systems and services in Notre Dame High School, and the wider St. Clare Multi Academy Trust finance team as required.

About Notre Dame High School

Responsibilities & Tasks
Main Duties
- Monitor and manage the central finance mailboxes
- Process purchase invoices
- Reconcile supplier statements and deal with any queries
- Process Sales Ledger Invoices
- Monitor Creditor and Debtor reports including Customer
Debt chasing - Process banking cash/cheque receipts.
To support the finance manager with:
- Administration of Parent payment system – currently
Bromcom. - On-line parent payment receipts – currently Bromcom
- Processing and reconciling staff expenses
- Reconciling and submission of credit card month end
statements - Production and maintenance of spreadsheets
- Support and training for both Teaching and non-Teaching
staff on finance related systems - Respond to, and resolve queries, taking action as
appropriate and identify any preventative measures. - To support the central Catholic Multi Academy Trust Finance Team with finance related information / data collection requests as appropriate. Ensuring information is submitted in a timely manner.
- In consultation with the post holder, the Headteacher/Line
Manager may request a person takes on any additional responsibility as the school develops and/or the need arises.
Apprenticeship Programme & Training
- Full day-to-day training will be provided by the employer.
- This apprenticeship qualification is called Level 2 Accounts / Finance Assistant.
- If you do not have grades A-C/9-4 in GCSE maths and English, you will be required to complete Level 1 Functional Skills maths and English.
- The learning will be delivered by dedicated, industry-specialist tutors via remote or face-to-face sessions. The only exception are any speaking and listening assessments – these may be delivered in a classroom.
- These session take place once per month, for roughly 2 hours, at a time convenient for both you and the employer.
- You will also complete a Vendor or Professional Qualification alongside the apprenticeship, which is chosen by the employer to be most relevant to the job role. This will either be the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, ACCA Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting (Level 2), IAB Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping, ICB Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping.
- You can expect to be eligible for Accounting posts, or for a higher-level apprenticeship upon completing this apprenticeship.
