ATL are currently working with a business in UB5 who are looking for an aspiring Apprentice Finance Assistant to join a growing team! The role involves supporting the wider business with both Finance and Administration assistance.

Responsibilities & Tasks
- Speaking to customers who owe money and noting down details of conversations
- Dealing with queries from colleagues, customers and suppliers
- Checking and updating bank account details
- Inputting supplier documents ensuring correct coding
- Chasing Credits from suppliers
- Processing cash and banking
- Chasing documentation from other departments
- Filing & general administration
- Working within the finance team and assisting with purchase and sales ledger
- Ad hoc -updating spreadsheets
- Ensure all customers are dealt with efficiently, courteously
- and as promptly
- Deliver excellent customer service that exceeds customer

- Ensure commitments made to customers are realistic,
- achievable and completed
- Keep paperwork clear and concise so that tasks may be
- followed by colleagues
- Wherever possible identify improvements to processes to
enhance customer service, reduce costs, improve margin , etc - General photocopying and assisting generally with clerical administration
- Take on any reasonable ad hoc duties to ensure the smooth running of the Company
- Prepare and assist with bi-annual stock checks adhering to company procedure
- Assist with training and development of all new recruits where appropriate
- Report any health and safety issues
- Keep a customer friendly working environment and follow the clear desk policy at the end of each day
Apprenticeship Programme & Training
- Full day-to-day training will be provided by the employer.
- This apprenticeship qualification is called Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant.
- If you do not have grades A-C/9-4 in GCSE maths and English, you will be required to complete Level 1 Functional Skills maths and English.
- The learning will be delivered by dedicated, industry-specialist tutors via remote or face-to-face sessions. The only exception are AAT exams – these may need to take place at a local examination centre.
- These session take place once per month, for roughly 2 hours, at a time convenient for both you and the employer.
- You will also complete a Vendor or Professional Qualification alongside the apprenticeship, which is chosen by the employer to be most relevant to the job role. This will either be the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, the ACCA Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting (Level 2), the IAB Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping or the ICB Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping.
- You can expect to be eligible for Accounting & Finance posts, or for a higher-level apprenticeship upon completing this apprenticeship.
